This clean Marangoni apartment is an independent self catering apartment which lies in an historic building. It sleeps four people very comfortably, ideal for a family or two couples.
The apartment is decorated with ancient original ornaments. The dining and kitchen area have two windows allowing plenty of sunshine light. The kitchen is fully equipped. In this area are two sofas to taking some rest after have been walking through the magnificent Venetian streets all day long.
Not too far down the hall there is the master bedroom with two single beds which can be converted into a double. Here an elegant tall mirrored closet let you store your belongings. A window and an ancient chest with drawers embellish the room.
In the adjacent bedroom are two single beds, a closet and two windows. The bathroom has been recently renovated offering modern comforts and a spacious stand up shower.
Very close to the station and Grand Canal. Quiet and clean. It's up a couple flights of steps if that's an issue.
We stayed for three nights at apartment Marangoni, San Polo Frari, Santa Croce. The apartment was clean, spacious, and in an ideal location. It was very private, close to a vaporetto stop, and within walking distance to most attractions. Most importantly, the apartment, like the Key to Italy Office, was close to both the bus and train stations. This is important as luggage must be wheeled/carried from the station to your accommodation. And water taxis (as opposed to buses) are very expensive. One of our favourite attractions was a tour of the Jewish Ghetto. Definitely worth it. One of our favourite restaurants was La Zucca. Despite what you might read it's not strictly vegetarian -- while our wives enjoyed the veggie fare, my friend and I ordered delicious osso bucco.
Very good location very near the boats to everywhere. It's in a residential block so you have to be very quiet at all times but you really feel as if you are living in Venice rather than being a tourist... If you have the money (it's quite expensive) then I'd recommend it.
I picked up my keys at 7 p.m. and found the location with a little help from passing strangers. It was very clean and quiet. Most of the residents in the building are older people so it is a very peaceful environment. The thing I liked most was the location. It is close to Piazzale Roma and the rental office, which means that you won't be toting your bags all over Venice (and up and down the bridges). And if you are arriving or leaving Venice by train, the Santa Lucia railway station is right across the Grand Canal.
This apartment is located very close to the train station which is great access to the rest of Venice by waterbus, watertaxi, or gondola. The stairs up to the fourth floor were not as difficult as we thought they may be. The owner came over and gave us extra towels and adjusted the heat to meet our american expectations. We had a great stay during Carnivale!
Thanks Edward for the kind review! Hope to see you soon again!
Marangoni is a good place to stay and enjoy Venice. the apartment is a good size in a central but quite location. It is fairly well equipped, clean and in good condition, as I expected. The location is just perfect, the building is elegant, as all the buildings in the area. Santa Croce and San Polo are two of the most enjoyable districts in Venice to explore on a walking tour because of the large open spaces, beautiful small squares and charming narrow streets. There are plenty of outdoor markets on Santa Croce and San Polo where you can admire food stalls, as well as many tourist sights such as the oldest bridge and church in Venice - Rialto Bridge and San Giacomo church.
The apartment was very easy to reach from the train station. Check in after hours was done very conveniently. The apartment was very comfortable and tranquil. It was a bit hard to get our suitcases up to the fourth floor, but we managed. There was plenty of room. The TV worked and we even cooked some pasta for dinner one night, which was lovely. We would like to stay there again on our next trip to Venice, Livia
I have traveled a lot in Italy (I'm a travel blogger) and I've seen a lot of apartment rentals. I can safely give this one five stars for the following reasons: 1) great location. You don't have to drag your suitcase far from the train station as it's just down the street. In Venice, the area near the station is not sketchy as it can be in other cities. 2) really quiet. We didn't hear a peep. 3) well appointed: high quality furniture bought by a family who clearly intended to live there at some point. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher!, to cook dinners (and thus to save money). There is a large coop supermarket not far from the train station where you can buy ingredients at prices pretty much equal to those in the rest of Italy. 4) great value: This is the best priced two-bedroom apartment I found in venice. Two separate rooms is rare and provided appropriate privacy. 5) the rental agent was friendly and professional. One small negative: the wall between the two bedrooms is actually made of a custom built-in cupboard, so does not provide particular soundproofing.
The location is excellent. It is very near the ferry taxi terminal. The walk there is safe even late at night. Lots of eating places and restaurants around, so there is no problem with food there. The staff are friendly, kind and speaks good English. We had a very smooth check in process. You will love the apartment. It is nicely furnished, a very homely environment. Just be prepared to walk up 3 floors to your apartment :o)
