The building where our San Marco 2 lies is just 500 meters from Saint Mark's Square in a prestigious area of Venice, full of fashionable local stores, art galleries and some of the most famous restaurants of the city.
It was built in 1512 by the count Verner di Dolo, one of the most important merchants of the time, who chose this location thanks to its proximity to Saint Mark's Square and to the Canal, allowing the comfortable docking of its ships.
At the end of 2010 the building was under a radical renewal thanks to the works of the famous interior designer Gianluca Pavanato, who was able to renew the beauties of the past in a contemporary key.
Three new and magnificent apartments came out from the renewal of the building. Each apartment is equipped with all the comforts and features all the necessary amenities.
All the apartments are equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-fi internet, dishwasher, microwave oven and all the appliances needed for a wonderful stay.
The San Marco 2 is one of these apartments. Our outstanding apartment is totally furnished with extremely classy pieces of furniture and moderm fittings. Wide and luminous windows allow the light from outside, all overlooking an evocative Venice small square.
The magnificent apartment San Marco 2 is composed of a stylish and modern living room, a fully equipped kitchen complete of fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher, toaster, electric kettle, a double bedroom with a private restroom for your relax, a second stunning bedroom and a second very roomy restroom where to enjoy your free time in Venice.
The additional comforts in the apartment are LCD 32-inch monitor satellite television, free internet Wi-fi and air conditioning in the whole apartment, hairdryer, toaster, washing machine, ironing board and iron, vacuum cleaner and, upon request, a cradle for children.
You can reach Saint Mark’s Square in just five minutes by walking and its famous Doge’s Palace walking along Riva degli Schiavoni. This is the most beautiful and fascinating walk in Venice among buildings of the XVII century.
For the fashion lovers close by is Calle XXII Marzo, a famous fashion street where some brands such as Gucci, D&G, Valentino stores sell their clothes.
In the nearby do not forget many elegant restaurants and bars where you can taste the typical venetian kitchen.
The apartment is in the same building of San Marco 1 and 4 in the case a large group is seeking for accomodations close each others.
I changed my reservation to this apartment after I saw the pictures on the website and checked reviews that travelers made of it. I don't have anything much different to add than all the other travelers noted in their reviews. It is a great value. Very charming apartment and extremely tastefully decorated. I was not disappointed with my decision. We loved the location. The apartment was a short walk from the water bus stop. Ponte Rialto and Piazza San Marco was about a short walk away. There were excellent restaurants nearby, as well as an unmissable wine shop.
We chose this apartment based on its location and the positive reviews It was the perfect choice for our three nights stay in Venice prior to a cruise. Given our limited time in the city, it was important to us to be close to the important sites to reach them as easy as possible.Staff was very helpful from when I emailed a question about their smoking policy (and happily learned it was all non-smoking) to when we left the apartment. The accomodation was clean and comfortable and we all felt extremely safe. The decor is something so special that I don't think it's possible to find better style somewhere else !!!
We sent our son and daughter-in-law here on their honeymoon and they loved it and told us we had to go there ourselves. When we finally did, we agreed. It's a very charming apartment conveniently located. This place has gotten increasingly popular, we recommend to book months in adavance as it gets filled very quickly. Venice is incredibly expensive so bring with you enough money to face any evenience. You will love the San Marco 2, it was even better than our home and it made me feel wanting to live there for a longer stay !
My girlfriend and I stayed at the San Marco 2 for 4 nights last weekend and I have to say, both Venice and this apartment have shot right to the top of our list of favourite places
The apartment is new and modern. We completely enjoyed the rooms which were so nicely decorated and found them to be very comfortable with excellent mattresses. We don't have enough words to describe the amazing living room where also is a fabuluos kitchen. The bathroom is simply outstanding.
As soon as we arrived Marzia gave us a warm welcome and a great introduction to Venice, recommending a good walk for us to take to get our bearings of the city and a recommendation of a restaurant for the evening.
Overall we have the most fantastic stay and when we go back to Venice we will most certainly stay here again. It just fits the Venetian lifestyle.
I have been to Venice 3 times. This apartment is the "top of the top", by far the best in Venice I've stayed in, but also one of the best apartment I've stayed in the world. The service of the Key to Italy was fantastic. From the moment you arrive at San Marco 2 you're greated by great warmth! Theapartment is right in the heart of Venice, but sheltered from the hustle and bustle down a quaint street. We were told how to get Gondala rides to see the glass factories on Murano as well as other insider tips! I can't recommend this apartment enough - not only will you have a restful stay (the beds are exceptionally comfortable!) but you'll feel instantly at home. Unforgettable apartment - can't wait to go back! x
