As everyone posted on this space I'm crazy about the Venice apartment. Even though it worked out to a high rate it was worth it, not just only for the exclusive location (you are next to Saint Mark). We returned to this rental on May 2012 and once again were not disappointed. This time we had friends with us who loved Venice and loved the Venezio. The apartment is a gem - clean, comfortable, beautifully and conveniently located. Next year this will be our place to stay one more time. Thank you The Key to Italy folks !!
We stayed in the apartment near San Marco It was literally 2 blocks away! Venice is not the most accessible city- so every place in the city is easily accessible. There were 3 flights of stairs to the apartment! So it wasn't so awesome getting all our stuff from 2 weeks abroad there, but it was fine once we were all settled. The apartment was very clean and spacious - we opened the windows at night to enjoy the breeze of Venice enchanting city. Most hotels in Venice are really expensive, so this was a great alternative.
We're a family of 5 with 3 children aged 15, 13 & 10 years. If you ask any of us what was the best place we stayed in during our 5 weeks in Europe we'd all answer – apartment Venezio !!. We arrived an hour late on the overnight train from Paris, however we picked up the keys and went directly to the apt. The Venezio has 3 bedrooms ( first two have double beds that can be arranged as singles, third has a four-poster double bed (three-quarter sized - french size). We were explained that due to some changes in Italian laws the Venezio can now host up to 4 people. We could handle with it as we were three and have more than enough space for us. There was a supermarket literally 1min around the corner, and we were just behind St Mark's square, unbleivable !! No internet provided, but we were able to hook into a local wifi network and pay reasonable rates for 3 days connection. We were completely entranced by Venice, had 3 days there and wished it was a week, there's just so much to explore and this is the perfect base.
We stayed here February 2012. We booked with The Key to Italy through their website - incredibly easy, fast and smooth. The apartment was easy to find and in the perfect location for exploring all the main attractions and the wonderful "true" Venitian backstreets. Nicely decorated and well-appointed the Venezio Apartment turned to be the right choice. The building is a traditional Venetian palace and the area is really upscle being in the very core of Venice. We'll be back.
We picked this apartment from a travel book recommending the Key to Italy company. It is a nice palce with nicely appointed rooms. Our bedroom was of a smaller size but we enjoyed our stay there. The staff is nice and accommodating. They recommended us couple of restaurants close by and the food was great. Cafe Mocenigo (in the Santa Corce district) is a great restaurant, even if a bit away from the residence.
This was a great apartment for our Venetian stay. Right across San Marco and among the tiny and cute streets of city center. Windows overlook wonderful views, interiors of the unit are really warm. We missed some english channels but were comfortable with the space offered. Vanessa was very helpful and nice and spoke English very well. She helped us find restaurants (Venice can be tricky place to find your way), helped with train questions, gave us suggestions of places to go. Anything we needed or any questions we might have had, she took care of us.
