Messalina apartment was an excellent choise for accommodation. There was plenty of room for four girls, and pictures on the web site matched perfectly to reality. We got good instructions how to reach the apartment and Carla was there to welcome us in. She also gave us good tips what to do, where to eat and shop. It was quite hot and therefore aircon was a great plus! There are plenty of great restaurants nearby in Trastevere region and therefore there is no need to go far in the evening if you are tired from the whole day sightseeing. We didn't use public transportation at all and walked to every important landmark. It required a bit of route planning per day, but was worth it as we managed to see much more than we could if we would have used bus/metro. One minus point though. There wasn't a deasant grocery store nearby. Only one small, which had a limited selection with high prices. A bigger one was on the other side of Tiber river.. At least we weren't able to find another one closer. I would definitely recommend Messalina apartment and would choose the apartment again!

We stayed at apt Messalina last year and enjoyed it (and Rome) so much that we returned again this year. We love this apartment and its Trastevere location. Central enough to be within an easy walk of all the main Rome sites/sights, but in a quiet, atmospheric corner across the river. The apartment is stylish and very comfortable--great firm bed, nice linens, contemporary bathroom and shower, A/C if needed, Wifi, and kitchen facilities. We only use the kitchen for morning coffee and pastries and chilling beverages, because why cook when such good food is just around the corner? Carla, the owner, is very helpful. We always place "quiet" at the top of our lodging requirements. With apt Messalina you can have a quiet night's sleep (with the apt's double set of windows in the bedroom) and also enjoy the sounds of the neighborhood with the window open during the day. We won't stay anywhere else in Rome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Rome and this apartment made the trip more convenient than we had even expected. All of the comforts of home were provided. In addition, the location of this flat proved quite efficient for all of our needs and for our tourist activities. The air conditioning also served us well during our spring week. Be sure to check out the marvellous Italian restaurants along the streets. The food is great and the atmosphere very friendly.

This was a great apartment for us. There were 3 adults visiting Rome for a quick 3 days. It was rather warm during our stay and the air conditioning worked wonderfully to keep us cool and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary basics you need for cooking.We have already told friends about this amazing place .My only regret is that we didn't have more time in Rome to enjoy the flat. We had amazing pizza take-away one night and the best gelato. Thank you Giovanni

My wife and I spent the first 3 days of our trip in Trastevere and fell in love with the area! We really enjoyed the district and couldn't wait to come back after sightseeing the other major sites. We were enchanted with the apartment decor and found Carla very helpful. Thank you for let us living an incredible Italian experience

Messalina is a wonderful apartment in a wonderful section of Rome, Trastevere. The apartment has one bedroom, 2 sofabeds in sitting room, a great bathroom with standalone shower, and very nice kitchen and dining table. (We didn't cook, but the equipment and appliances are available.) Very modern renovation. Good firm bed/s. Nice linens. Tv with BBC news and internet/Wifi. Washing machine and dishwasher, refrigerator and stove. Microwave. Perfect for 2 and very workable for 3-4 if you like each other a lot. I liked the sofabed as a place to go read late at night and fall back to sleep. Building was quiet. The street is charming and you get the sound of the neighborhood from your open bedroom window all day long, if you like. We liked! Good glazing keeps things quiet at night, but we didn't mind even the muffled sounds of people walking, talking, dining once we went to bed. Music of the neighborhood. We walked everywhere to the rest of Rome--we like walking and enjoyed the exercize. Nothing seemed that far--15 minutes to the Capitol, for example. And buses are available a few minutes away at Pzza Belli. Trastevere is such a great neighborhood--seems more of a real neighborhood, still, than the other more central areas of the city. Beautiful old buildings and streets, and restaurants with outdoor seating that come alive in the evening--dominated by locals, not tourists. Lots of real working activity still going on, too. See Sta Cecilia in Trastevere and Sta Maria in Trastevere!! Carla, the owner, and Giovanni, reservations and assistance, were very helpful and friendly. My husband and I can't say enough good about this apartment. We hope to return soon!
