Our Services:  The Key to Italy, Ltd is a booking agent company that accommodates travelers in Apartments, Villas and Bed & Breakfasts by intermediating on behalf of property owners. The Key to Italy, Ltd will not take over obligations and responsibilities with landlords and will not be responsible for dispute between the renter and the owner.

Conditions:  All accommodations will be cleaned at the beginning of the stay provided with bed linens, towels and other amenities. An additional cleaning service can be arranged by request for an extra fee. The number of people occupying the accommodation must not exceed the number of occupants indicated in the voucher and agreed at the time of the reservation. We kindly ask to leave the accommodations in good order on departure.

Payment Methods:  The renter secures the accommodation by providing a credit card number (usually about 20% of total cost amount) via credit-card or wire-transfer. A credit-card/wire-transfer form or instructions will be given to the renter at the time of reservation. The renter is required to provide all the necessary information to The Key to Italy, Ltd to process the request.   The booking will only be considered confirmed when the payment has been received.

Booking Confirmation:  Once the booking is confirmed, The Key to Italy, Ltd will immediately provide  the renter a voucher containing all the information regarding the booking such as:  balance due on arrival, contact numbers to call during the stay, directions on how to reach the accommodation, and all the necessary and useful information. The renter is required to present the voucher upon arrival.

Security Deposit and Damage fees:  Depending on the property:

• a) You might be required to pay a small security deposit amount in cash on arrival (it will be returned back to you on departure after the check out) 
• b) You might be required to sign a waiver in case you cause damages during the stay (in this case the amount will be deducted from the credit card).
• c) In the event of damages caused by the renter, ex. loss of keys; key broken in the lock etc… a fee will apply depending on the cost of the service.

Check-in  & Check-out:  Check-in time is after 14:30 (2:30pm) unless differently specified or agreed. For arrivals after 20:00 (8:00pm) a late check in fee may apply. Check-out time is at any time before 10:30am and must be respected.  * If the client requires an early check-in, the property must be booked for the previous day from the arrival date. * If the client requires a late check-out, the client must book the apartment for the day after the actual departure date.

Please make sure that The Key to Italy, Ltd is appropriately notified of the time of arrival (please send the arrival details via e-mail or contact your sales person. The time of arrival is very important in order to arrange the appointment with the proprietor/his representative to welcome you into the accommodation and provide you with a set of keys.  Please advise in regards to any arrival schedule changes /delays caused by flights, traffic, etc...  Make sure to present the voucher upon arrival together with copy of ID/Passports of every member travelling as it is a specific Italian legal requirement.

 

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Any cancellation or reservation change must be immediately communicated in writing to The Key to Italy, Ltd.  In the event of unforeseen situations leading to canceling a reservation,  they must reach The Key to Italy, Ltd in writing. The renter may be charged a specific amount depending on how long prior to the arrival date he/she notifies The Key to Italy Ltd. Please read carefully  the cancellation chart below:

• More than 60 days before arrival – 20% of the total cost amount is charged
• From 60 to 11 days before arrival – 50% of the total cost amount is charged
• From 10 to 0 days before arrival – 100% of the total cost amount is charged

Refunds are provided in accordance to the previous cancellation policy.

Reservation Changes:  A) In the event the renter needs to reduce the number of days of the rental period, the Cancellation Policy will apply on the canceled days only.  B) In the event the renter asks for an extension of the rental period, The Key to Italy, Ltd will check the availability before proceeding with the change of reservation: If the accommodation is available you will be asked for the cost of the additional stay (actual rates being estimated at the time of the extension). If the accommodation is not available, you have the choice to either confirm the original booking or cancel the reservation under the cancelation policy guidelines.

 

Property no longer available:  In case the chosen Property is no longer available at the time of arrival due to an unexpected setback, damages or other inconveniences, The Key to Italy, Ltd will offer an alternative accommodation with equal or higher value at no extra charge.

 

ID Documents:  Every accommodation in Italy is legally obliged to register its tenants with the city hall which is the reason why is mandatory you perform one of the following.

• a) Email in advance a copy of the ID/Passports of every member travelling
• b) Present on arrival a copy of the ID/Passports of every member travelling.

 

Members Travelling:  The number of people occupying the rental property may under no circumstances exceed the amount of people approved at the time of the reservation and showing/printed on your voucher. Any additional person, must be notified to the The Key to Italy, Ltd.

 

Code of Behavior:  Renters are to respect and will be held responsible for the property, traditions and basic rules of the area.  If the party renting the property fails to perform in a courteous manner, the owner has the right to ask the party to leave the property immediately. Automatically, the renter loses all rights to any reimbursement of rental costs. If any damages occurred, the owner has the right to deduct from the security deposit or from the renter's credit card  with an addition of cleaning fees. 

 

Travel and Medical Insurance:  We recommend to subscribe travel and medical insurance. To gather information on this matter please refer to the dedicated companies, some popular companies for your convenience are as follows: AIG (worldwide), Travelex , Travel and go (British).

 

Privacy Policy:  At The Key to Italy, Ltd, we take our responsibility regarding your privacy very seriously, we use high ethical standards and respect your privacy.

The information we request when making your reservation is required in order to offer you a professional service. We will eventually disclose your personal information to our trusted third parties only and for the sole purpose of completing your booking through us.  In accordance with European personal data protection laws, strict security procedures are observed at The Key to Italy, Ltd to prevent personal data misuse and unauthorized access.

 

Credit Card Information Management:  When your credit card information is sent to us via Internet we use the latest, most secure technology available, which encrypts all your personal and credit card details. The encryption method used is the industry standard "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL) technology. Our SSL 128bit certificate has been issued by RapidSSL (www.rapidssl.com), a well known and trusted Certification Authority. The certificate is used to verify and authenticate our website and to build an encrypted and secure communication between your browser and our web server. Your credit card details will not be stored on our web server but will be kept on file at The Key to Italy, Ltd  up to seven days after your departure date (considering that no damage had occurred to the accommodation during your stay).   After this date, all your credit card details will be destroyed and no further use will be possible for The Key to Italy, Ltd.

 

Security:  Our server and network are protected by firewalls against unauthorized access. All of the computers and software we use to manage your requests are provided with antivirus software and are regularly monitored, tested and updated against security threats. Our staff is constantly trained to meet the highest security standards and procedures in accordance with our security policy.

 

Control over your data:  You always have the right to review the personal data you eventually have stored with us.
