Are all of your apartments in a convenient location?
Yes, all of our apartments have been carefully geographical chosen to be located exclusively in the center of the both cities Rome and Venice. Mostly walking distance from and to the most visited sites with public transportation within reach.

 

How does the booking process work? Are there any hidden costs I should be aware of?
We show everything!! Simply choose the apartment that best suits your specifications and send us an enquiry that requires you fill up the form. We will reply to you within 3/9 hours after checking the availability for your intended period of stay.   No hidden costs, nor surprises on the bill. All of our costs are clearly mentioned on our site, the time of booking and voucher. All of the other services are clearly reported in the apartment page.

 

What makes your company stand out from the  rest?

We have established a strict set of rules to ensure we produce a high quality product, another words; when a property receives three bad reviews (three strikes, you're out policy), we automatically remove the apartment from our inventory, thus ensuring you we only offer the best apartments we have available for you.

 

How long does it take for me to receive an answer for my request?
One of our The Key to Italy sales staff members will answer you within 3/9 hours. (88% of the time our requests are answered within 3 hours).

 

Why is my time of arrival important?
Your arrival time is very important because it will help us organize and regulate all the arrivals for that day and to ensure everything is ready and in order for you.  We don't want to delay the start of your stay in Italy.
 
How do I make my deposit payment?
It's very quick and simple.  Just fill out the credit card form we send via email to fully secure your chosen rental accommodation as a security. This confirms your booking with us!  You can also pay via wire-transfer as well, but a credit card number must always be provided. A receipt of the wire-transfer must be faxed to our office to confirm payment has been made. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and wire-transfers. 

 

When will my booking be confirmed?
Your booking will only be confirmed once the credit card form  sent to you is complete and returned back to our office. We re-check for availability once more and hold it for you right away! We don't lose time; otherwise another party can very easily interfere blocking your dates with the chance of ruining your plans.

 

 What is the penalty for cancelling my reservation?
All the details concerning in the event of a cancellation to any reservation is available in the "Cancelation Policy/ Reservation Changes"  page on our web site.

 

When will I get my Travel Voucher?
As soon as we receive and process your credit card number with approved payment status, or a faxed copy of wire-transfer receipt, we will send your travel voucher via e-mail.  Please print and bring a copy with you!  Other useful information will also be sent to you along with your voucher. 

 

Can I pay the balance before I arrive?
You can pay your advance amount at the time of the reservation by providing us with a credit card number.  The remaining balance "must" be paid in cash on arrival. Though there are exceptions, which have to be discussed at the time of booking.

 

Who will meet me at the apartment?
There will be either a member of The Key to Italy or the key holder meeting you at the apartment with the keys to welcome you in and introduce you the accommodation. Time of arrival has to be provided to the agency.

 

What number do I call in case of an emergency?
On your voucher, a telephone number will be provided.  It will be only  for extremely emergency cases only.  For other miscellaneous matters, the owner will be contacted.

 

My flight/train is delayed and arrives late at night, how do I get the keys to the apartment? Is there any extra fee?
First and foremost, notify The Key to Italy agency immediately either by phone, or SMS text messaging with your name and Reservation number. We will have to contact the person with the keys of the delay that will be at the accommodation to come back at the correct time provided by you. There may be other arrivals on that day, and we have to make sure everyone is attended accordingly.
 
Do you offer Car-PickUp service from the Airport/Train station?
Yes, The Key to Italy has a car-pickup service available to all of our clients by request only!! In our web site, you will find all the details how to request this service and get your keys when arriving at the apartment. This makes it easier for you and helps speed up the journey to start enjoying your vacation in Italy.

 

How will I get the keys to the apartment?
There will be someone representing the owner meeting you at the apartment with the keys to welcome you in and explain the details of the apartment.

 

Are all the apartments supplied with bed linens and towels or do I have to bring my own?
All our apartments are supplied and equipped with towels, bed linens, and covers. All will be provided for you.  In some properties the costs of the utilities (heating, water, electricity, etc.) are also included in the price.  Other apartments but not many are paid by consumption. (See price tab on each apartment)

 

How many sets of keys do I get?
At the time of the Check-In, you will be given 1 set of keys per couple. Two sets of keys by request only.

 

What do I do with the keys at the end of my stay?
At the time of your departure at the end of your stay, make sure all the lights and appliances are off, close all the windows and leave your keys on top of the table, simply close the door and shut it behind you.  Otherwise someone will be there at the time of check-out to finalize details if need be.

 

I will need a cell phone in Italy. How can I go about getting a cell phone?
The key to Italy provides Rent-a-Cell service but only by request in advance to ensure one is available and reserve it for you. During the process of your reservation make sure you advise us and we'll make sure one will be at your disposal when you arrive.

 

What other method of payment can I use to secury my reservation?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and Amex. Another method (which is becoming popular) is via Wire-Transfer. When this is made, a receipt must be faxed to our office, proof of payment has been done. In all circumstances, a credit card must always be provided. The remaining of the balance "must" be paid with cash on arrival.

 

What time do we Check-in and Check-out of the apartment?
If your travel arrangements are to arrive in Rome before 14:30 (2:30 pm) you will have to wait until the actual check-in time at 14:30 (2:30 pm). If the apartment is free, you can check-in earlier, but check with The Key to Italy first.  The only reason for this is because there might have been guests in the apartment before you and needs to be cleaned and prepared for you.  Check-out is at 10:30 am in the morning and must be followed accordingly.  We have to give enough time for our cleaning staff to prepare the apartment for the next guests arriving after you.
