The Matte I apartment is on the 3rd floor of an 16th century building with elevator. 100 square meters large, it's bright because of its large windows. With a classic-modern touch that fits the building classical style. From the entrance you'll step into the living room which has two couches, a fireplace decorated with marble and a Sat TV.
From the living room you can either go to the dining room or upstairs through a characteristic worked iron spiral staircase to the Terrace. The Terrace itself is impressive, up to 100 sq meter with a fantastic view over Rome.
The Dining room has a rectangular table which can seat up to 6 people. From the main corridor you'll access the 3 bedrooms.

The first one has two single beds a wardrobe and a wooden chest of drawers.
The second bedroom has two single beds (which can be converted to a double bed) a wooden desk and a large stylish wardrobe of the 17th century. The bedroom also has a private bathroom.

The 3rd bedroom is large and finely furnished with paintings and awards of the noble family that owned the building. It has a wooden desk and a large wardrobe of the 17th century. This bedroom as well has a private bathroom.

You can access the 3rd bathroom from the corridor.

The apartment has a fully furnished kitchen with frigo, freezer, hoven.
Wifi Internet Access, Sat TV, Air Conditioning and independent heating, dishwasher and washing machine.

Apartment Mattei I and Apartment Mattei II can be combined to accommodate a group/family up to 11 people as they are in the same building (3rd and 4th floor) and also communicate one with the other through the Terrace.

Apartment Mattei I is located in one of the most charming and authentic neighbourhood of Rome, between the Jewis Ghetto and Campo de Fiori Area. The 1st century BC "Teatro Marcello" (kind of a small colosseum) and the ruins of Octavia’s Portico are just nextdoor! The marvellous "Tortoise Fountain" lies in the little square in front of the patrician Palazzo Mattei and Palazzo Costaguti (16th century) endowed in the interior with fine marbles, statues and decorations, and frescoes by Guercino, Domenichino and the Zuccari brothers. Visit the beautiful 1905 Synagogue and its museums of the Rome Jewish Community.
This ancient and popular market area has always been the center of Rome Jewish community life. There are several restaurants in the Ghetto area which serve Jewish-Roman food (not always kosher). Typical dishes are Fritto misto vegetale (Mixed vegetables fried in batter), Filetti di baccalà; (Fried cod fillets) and Carciofi alla Giudia (Artichokes in the Jewish style).
From the old ghetto walk to nearby medieval and renaissance Rome: see the open air market of “Campo de’ Fiori” with picturesque stalls, Palazzo Spada with Borromini’s amazing trompe l’oeil gallery and Piazza Farnese with Michelangelo’s magnificent palace. Stroll along colourful backstreets, lined by antique stores and craftsman workshops, to breathtaking Piazza Navona with Bernini’s fountains, sidewalk artists and outdoor cafés.
